APRIL - Head Pack Leader

Hello Fredericksburg pet parents! I have been a Pack Leader and a business partner for Canine Cardio NOVA in Alexandria, VA for 6 years now. I first met the founder, Brittany, at James Madison University in 2011 long before Canine Cardio was started. We have been best friends since those college days. We have been through a lot together... sleeping on each other's couches, sharing a cramped 1-bedroom apartment, and most importantly... believing in each other that we would succeed at whatever we set our minds to! Brittany had always been the dog trainer and dog whisperer, and I was the horse girl. I am glad she has rubbed off on me over the years, turning me into the passionate pack leader I am today. So in 2023, I started my own Fredericksburg pack!

 

I grew up in the Fredericksburg area, both my parents are UMW Alumni. They met in biology class on campus of all places. My mother rode for the UMW Equestrian team. So, she's the one who got me started riding horses. From the age of 5,  and had me competing in horse shows at Hazelwild Farm on Harrsion Road. This sparked my passion for animals and love for being outside and appreciation of hard work getting your hands dirty. Leading a pack of dogs is not too much different than leading pack of horses. You have to be strong, patient, and calm to lead them to success. I have also owned many dogs over the years. Currently the proud corgi parent of my own Princess Peach, she's a 4 year old bundle of energy.

 

Now it is my mission to bring together all the dogs and dog parents of Fredericksburg! Along with my two good friends, Caroline and Hyde - My right hand ladies down here helping me every day!
